Alpaca Oracle – Meadow -installation includes an indoor meadow and a message from the alpaca herd. The five biggest problems of the human kind according to ‘Scientists Consensus on Maintaining Humanity’s Life Support Systems in the 21st Century‘ were presented to the alpaca herd and advice to meet these challenges was asked. These challenges include 1.) climate disruption, 2.) extinction, 3.) wholesale loss of diverse ecosystems, 4.) pollution, 5.) human population growth and consumption patterns. The alpacas didn’t answer directly to these problems but gave an overall advice that was part of the installation as sound. The indoor meadow has cultivated plants which are not subjected to systematic breeding (landrace) and suitable for alpacas.
